Norfolk Governors' Network considers that communication with Governors, the Local Authority (LA) and the National Governors' Association (NGA) is of the utmost importance. NGN's objective is to develop a best practice communication strategy

Norfolk Governors' Network undertakes to communicate with Governors by:

  • A frequently updated website, www.ngn.org.uk 
  • 'NGN News' distributed as required to all Norfolk governors via their schools and directly to governors who have registered to receive it 
  • NGN Meetings For Governors to which all governing bodies receive an invitation

Norfolk Governors' Network undertakes to obtain the views of Norfolk Governors by:

  • Items on the website inviting comment to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • Questionnaires to a sample of Governing bodies
  • Open discussion at NGN Meetings for Governors
  • The constitution of the County Committee of governors having representatives from the five areas of Norfolk, special schools and inclusion of the parent representative members of the Children's Services Overview and Scrutiny Panel
  • Email to Governors who have given their email address to NGN

Norfolk Governors' Network undertakes to communicate with the LA/Children's Services and obtain the views of the LA/Children's Services by:

  • Regular meetings of the NGN sub committees with senior Children's Services Officers
  • Representation at meetings organised by the LA/Children's Services as defined by the Executive Partnership. Representatives are selected to cover the different types of schools and areas of Norfolk
  • Termly meetings with the Assistant Director of Children's Services
  • Direct contact with senior Children's Services Officers as appropraite

Norfolk Governors' Network undertakes to communicate with and obtain the views of the National Governors' Association by:

  • Accessing the NGA website
  • Email circulation lists
  • Receiving and replying to formal communication / consultative documents
  • Representatives attending NGA conferences
