Remit: The Education Act 2002 made it a legislative requirement for all LEAs to set up a Schools Forum. This body must be consulted on certain school funding issues and in turn must inform the governing bodies of maintained schools about these consultations.

Membership: The membership of the Forum is statutory and agreed by the County Council. It includes representatives from primary and secondary Headteachers, governor representatives from the primary, secondary and academy sectors, the Norwich Diocesan Board of Education, the Roman Catholic Church Diocese, the Joint Consultative Committee Teachers' Panel, the Joint Negotiation and Consultative Committee, Private, Voluntary and Indendent Sector (Early Years representative), Academies, 14-19 Strategy Group. Members of Norfolk County Council Children's Services Team also attend, including the Assistant Director - Resources & Efficiency. Norfolk Governors' Network is responsible for overseeing elections for governor members.
